Farmers from eastern Idaho particpated in the Direst Seed Workshop which provided best practices for managing no-till crops and producing a healthy harvest.
Speakers included Jared Cook from Rocky Mountain Agronomics, Jeremy Bunch from Shepherd's Grain, Xiaoli Etienne from the University of Idaho, and podcaster and twitter personality, Peter "Wheat Pete" Johnson, from Real Agriculture. Topics covered included managing plant health, nutrient stratification to help with soil health, marketing and risk management, planting, weather, harvesting, stubble height and residue management. Those who attended appreciated the wealth of knowledge our speakers had to offer regarding the healthy harvest theme.
