China's Baking Industry is Good For U.S. Wheat Producers

US wheat associates Vice President of Communications, Steve Mercer says they are pleased that the Chinese baking industry continues to thrive post-COVID, which is good news for us wheat producers.“China is increasingly in the top 10 of markets to which we export wheat. Part of it is the resolution of the trade wars from a few years ago, China's decided to actually meet its tariff rate quota of imported wheat, which is over 9 million metric tons of wheat a year a huge amount of wheat, obviously, and their consumers have a very large amount of wheat. But for the last couple of years, three years they've actually met that quota, which is great news for the world's wheat producers in the US as well.”
