Nongshim America Looking for Alturas Variety Wheat

Nongshim America Looking for Alturas Variety Wheat

Nongshim is among the largest food companies in Korea and is the world’s leading maker of Asian noodles. Nongshim America opened a noodle plant in Los Angeles in 2005 and they are looking to increase their purchase of certain wheat varieties.

One of their ideal blends of wheat uses Alturas Soft White wheat from Idaho blended with Blanca Grande and Trego varieties of Hard White. Alturas adds waxy texture to the noodle flour.

Idaho elevator operators who have accumulated enough Alturas to be able to sustain an extended production run of noodles may contact Kevin Davar at 909-484-1888, ext. 2104. Suppliers with proximity to the Ogden mills are preferred.
